Checking in...

I guess you could say i've been in a blogging rut and haven't had much to blog about lately. I'm sure i'll pick back up soon though... FALL, football, anniversary, birthdays, (AKA my favorite time of year) are right around the corner.... and that time of year always has me in a super creative mood...plus lots of fun adventures to share.

For now, i'll leave you all with a photo dump of what we've been up to lately. (PS, I got a new iphone back in July, and addicted to Instagram is an understatement!)

quick trip to Myrtle Beach, SC with our parents!

With Lyndsey & Yale for their couple's shower on July 28th.
While we were in town for the shower, we got to see some of our BFFs (none of us live in the same town anymore so it was pure bliss getting to catch up!)
Visiting Pam & Pat in Charleston. We went to the FireFly Distillery for Pat's birthday....SO.MUCH.FUN!
Even though I'm not blogging as much these days, I'm LOVING still reading and catching up on other blogs! I hope you all have a fantastic week!

Wedding Mania

One of the many reasons I've been so M.I.A from this bloggy over the past few months is we have spent almost every weekend traveling to some sort of wedding festivity. Yep, Shane and I have officially hit "that age". We have quite a few friends getting married or even some who are now having babies, so we've been making our way around the states to attend all these festivities. This is definitely such an exciting time in our lives, and I know it is for all of our friends.... we're all truly growing up. (woahhh)

Lately - In Pics

Aside from being super busy at my new job, which I LOVE, I've just been enjoying this gorgeous weather and spending time with my honey and friends...

our neighborhood pool is finally open and I had it all to myself last weekend. It was perfect weather, and the perfect excuse for me to finish the 50 Shade of Grey series (obsessed BTW)

South Carolina baseball is in post season right now and many nights i've spent doing this while watching!

We've been to visit our twin nieces a few times and they're still growing like weeds and doing great... We love our aunt and uncle time with them!

Shane's college roommate and his wife had a little boy back in November, and we've been dying to meet him but with crazy schedules, we haven't been able to. We finally made it to their house this week and it was SO nice catching up and playing with this happy baby

This past weekend, we went to Charleston for a little get away and to spend time with my bestie Pam & her BF and to also see my friend Lyn & her fiance. Friday night, we all had dinner down town.

Saturday, we got up early for walk on the Ravenel bridge. Pam and Pat live right on the harbor within a few hundred feet to the entrance to the bridge. I so wish I lived there for the view alone...amazing!

I've been a pretty bad blogger lately, but as you can see, we've been keeping busy!
I will be back this week for some fun posts so stay tuned... :)

Memorial Day Weekend

This post is a little late, but It's been a crazy month.
By the way, what the heck? It's already JUNE?!?! Where has 2012 gone!!!

Let's go back a few weekends to Memorial Day Weekend. Shane and I were BOTH off for 3 days straight! With his job he usually has to work weekends, so that NEVER happens.

The weather in the south has been beautiful for the majority of May and memorial day weekend did not disappoint. Shane and I ventured up to North Carolina for a gorgeous weekend out on the lake and for his sister's wedding reception. (they got married back in February in New Zealand, so they had a local reception for friends and family to attend.)

Here are some pics of our fun, relaxing start to summer!

Weekend Recap

Hello Lovelies, Happy May!

This weekend was pretty event packed Friday & Saturday Night.

Friday, I worked Cirque Du Soleil: Michael Jackson The Immortal World Tour. It was a-freaking-mazing!

I wasn't supposed to be snapping pics, but I managed to get one quick one. It's an awesome show with lots of great dancing. If you are a Micheal Jackson music fan, this show was definitely worth seeing. I could have watched it ALL weekend!

Official Show Preview. Yes, it was as amazing as it looks!

Saturday, we went to Sarah & Andy's wedding. I blogged about how excited I was for their wedding on Friday, and it didn't disappoint. Their wedding was so full of amazing details and so. much. fun! I took some pics of how gorgeous it was, but I don't have my camera today, so the few I snapped on my phone will have to do. Take my word for it, one of the most gorgeous wedding's I've seen!

Shannon, the gorgeous bride, Me, & Pam
every table had adorable framed quotes... ours was clearly my favorite!
I absolutely LOVE going to weddings with Shane. I guess because we can relate to how truly happy the couple is and will be in their new lives together. Our wedding was legit the best day of our lives and it's so darn cute to see other people getting to experience such happiness.

Sunday, I spent the day in bed. And by that, I literally mean ALL DAY. I may have had a few glasses of wine Saturday night, and that combined with my lack of water plus hot weather gave me one awful headache. I didn't mind cuddling with Lilo and watching episodes of Grey's Anatomy though.

But now it's back to the daily grind this week.
Hope you all are having a FANTASTIC week so far and Happy May!

Catch up time

I have this bad habit of abandoning this poor little blog for a week or two at a time, and my friends, i've done it again... But I'm bacckkkkk!

So let's catch up, shall we?

Easter Weekend

Shane & I went to Florence for the weekend to spend time with family. Saturday morning, we spent time lovin' on our twin nieces. I can't believe those girls are already 8 months old. TIME FLIES, people. It seems like just yesterday, they were born!

Shane & Avery ......................... Me & Kadence
Easter Sunday, we went to church and lunch with my mom's side of the family. My grandparents were SO proud to have most of our family at church... my papa was definitely beaming ear to ear.

Me & the hubby....................................................... Me & my gorgeous mommy
After Shane and I arrived back in Columbia, we started a very long and drawn out week. My boss from our corporate office was in town so I spent most of the week in and out of meetings. I did however, get the pleasure of speaking on a panel for the South Carolina Broadcaster's Association. I was asked to speak, along with eight other people to share with college students the skills it takes to find a job and succeed in the area of broadcasting. I was super nervous, but the panel turned out GREAT and I had a blast!

Me and the other 8 panelists
This past weekend, I got in a fight with my allergies, and they won. So I spent the entire weekend enjoying the gorgeous weather, doing this...

drinking hot tea while cuddling on the couch
In my productive weekend, I did manage to watch one too many episodes of my favorite new obsession on Netflix... Army Wives.

Do any of you watch this show? Even if you are not a military spouse or family, this show is sooo good and prepare to have tissues. It really makes you respect the military families and what they go through while their loved ones are deployed. It's very dramatic, but even the hubby has enjoyed watching it with me!

Anyhoo, I believe I'm all caught up.

Hope you all have a fantastic week!

Let's Chat... The Hunger Games

Hello Lovies,

Hope you all had a fantastic weekend.

Mine was filled with a little bit of Zac Brown Band (I worked/watched them in concert Friday night here in Columbia), sleeping + working on Saturday, and cleaning + Hunger Games on Sunday.

Yes, I saved the best for last. Let's get down to business shall we?

I want to warn you, I have not read the books. All of my friends went nuts about them, the same friends who went nuts about Harry Potter (which was my fav book series) then put a bad taste in my mouth for Twilight (yes, I HATED Twilight). So I swore up and down that I was not going to read the Hunger Games.
When Shane and I were flying back from our honeymoon, we had a ridiculously long layover and both of us had finished our books we'd taken with us on vacation. We went to the bookstore in the airport, and Shane picked up the Hunger Games. For the next week or so, my hubby was CONSUMED by these books. When he finished, he went on and on about them. He gave me a general synopsis of the first book and it just didn't sound like my thing so I didn't read them. No matter who told me how good they were, I just brushed it off and would reply with a "whatever, I'll watch the movie."

Fast forward to this past Sunday. Shane has been bugging me ALL weekend long, so I knew if I didn't go see this movie with him, I would never be able to persuade him into a girly romantic comedy again. We trooped to the movie theater, and right off the bat I knew I was the only one in the whole theater who had not seen the movie. I just knew. I made Shane swear not to give me hints or tell me what happened
So almost three hours later, the movie finished.

And guess what...

I'm biting the damn bullet.

It was awesome.

So if you need me this week, I'll be reading the Hunger Games.
